FAQ

Does it work with my iPhone and Android?

Yes. Ralcam phone-connected borescopes support both iPhone and Android, and both USB-C and Lightning cables are included in the box — so you don't need to pick a connector when ordering. Just use the cable that matches your phone.

Do I need to install an app, and is it free?

You use a free companion app to show the live image and record photos and video — no account needed. These models connect by direct cable, so there's no Wi-Fi pairing. The app name and download link are in each product's manual and page.

Phone-connected or built-in screen — which should I choose?

Both types run on their own rechargeable battery, so neither one drains your phone — the real difference is the screen. Phone-connected scopes (F408A, F606A, H406A) are lighter and cheaper and use your phone's large, bright display, saving photos and video straight to your camera roll; charge them before use, like any cordless tool. Built-in-screen models keep your phone in your pocket, work where you'd rather not expose it, and start instantly. If you already carry your phone everywhere, phone-connected is the value pick.

USB-C or Lightning — which connector do I need?

You don't need to choose — both USB-C and Lightning cables are included in the box, so the scope works with virtually any iPhone or Android phone out of the box. Just connect the cable that matches your phone.

Is there a Wi-Fi version, and can I use it with a computer?

No to both. Every Ralcam phone borescope connects to your iPhone, iPad or Android phone by cable — there is no Wi-Fi model, so there is no network to join and no lag. They are not designed to display on a laptop or desktop computer. If you want to review footage on a computer, record it on your phone and transfer the files, or choose a borescope with a built-in screen that records to a TF card.

Will a phone borescope drain my phone's battery?

The F408A, H406A and F606A have their own rechargeable battery, so the camera and LEDs run from the scope, not from your phone. Charge the scope fully before the first use — if the app opens but the image stays dark, the scope battery is usually flat. The C106 has no battery and takes a small amount of power from the phone it is plugged into.
